I am sitting to take the state and NAB exam for the second time. I feel like my approach to studing is not accurate; there is so much information, I want to make sure I am studing the most relevent info. Above the $600 exams from Allen were mentioned but they seem more like homework and that is a lot of money too. What is a good online review class? Is there one that anyone is aware of in the Cleveland Ohio area? Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks Brian

Erin -

I recently took my NAB exam and failed. I was so disappointed b/c I felt fairly confident that I passed. I took the state exam back in October and passed. However, I felt that I had failed. Not sure what to think on taking the NAB a second time. Any suggestions?

So you have a program that we help me pass the NAB, or are you saying to just read all the books you listed. I want to prepare, for the exam.

Erin,
Do you know of any weekend courses to supplement books and schooling for the NAB and KS State exams? I'm just about to finish my MA and AIT hours. I understand the course probably won't be in KS itself.
Thank you kindly for all input, you are a blessing,
Debby

How exactly do you go about signing up for the exam? Do you have to contact your state board first and then contact the NAB for taking the exam?

Hello Autumn,

Thanks for your email. I understand where you are coming from --- I was also a financially burdened student when studying for my exams. So much so that at one point I debated not taking a practice study course to save money. I still feel that would have been a mistake because I got a lot out of the study course. If you think about what your time is worth, and then you add in the cost of retaking the exam, it's worth it to do it right the first time, even if it takes you a bit longer. However, everyone is different and therefore you must do what you need to do.

Check out my recommended books for the NAB exam. Most of them you can purchase from Amazon.com, Ebay, or Half.com for a fraction of the price. Also if you go to www.indeed.com they have a forum for nursing home administrators and students that gives helpful information. You can post a question and get feedback from administrators all over the country. Hope this helps.

Good luck!
