Do you recommend a on line self-study course?
If so which one would you recommend? What have you experienced as the best study plan to pass the exam on the first attempt?
Thanks for you assistance

Knowing the kinds of fire extinguishers and their use is information that the nursing home administrator ought to know. Several types of fire extinguishers exist. Each one has its strengths in extinguishing a different type of fire. Each one has a distinct purpose in the home, the science lab, or business atmosphere. Kay

Thomeka thanks for your comment. You may want to look at the regulation again:

Federal law (42 CFR 483.15) requires that all skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) provide “medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest practicable resident physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.” Nursing homes with more than 120 beds are required to employ a full-time social worker with at least a bachelor’s degree in social work or “similar professional qualifications.” Facilities with 120 beds or fewer must still provide social services, but do not need to have a full-time social worker on staff. Although federal nursing home regulations have a general requirement that facilities use licensed personnel, this regulation has not been enforced in the case of social work.

Thanks,

Erin

Hello,

Question number 5 is incorrect. If a facility must staff a full-time social worker if a facility has 120 residents. So it should be A instead of B.

Hi Pauline,

Thanks for your response. I am glad to hear the questions listed are helpful. If I were you, I would focus my energy on well written study guides (i.e., NAB Study Guide) and textbooks that will build your knowledge along with prepare you for the exam. Have you taken a NAB or state course yet? I took both, and as a result it benefited me greatly.

Everyone studies differently. Recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and hone in on them. I took off a few weeks and just focused on studying for the exam. If you have the time available, you may want to consider doing the same. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know how it works out for you.

Good luck!

Erin

Apparently we think alike -- I made a similar practice test when I was preparing for the NAB (I did pass) and put it up at http://www.scribd.com/doc/8570144/Nab-Review.
